Children's Table Upcycle
I got this little table last week thinking it would be a wonderful upcycle project. It could continue on as a newly refinished children's table, or for those without children it could be a nice little plant stand? End table? Corner table? The ideas are endless! Due to my current color collection I am choosing teal for the top and lime for the legs. I hope this project turns out well I think it has the potential to be a really nice piece once it's finished.
Stay tuned for the final results Friday :-)

2x4 Fun!

Both of these ideas I are gonna be for our house, they have been on the back burner for quite a while while I filled orders. Since my orders are currently caught up I though this week I'd catch up on these!

Bar Stool Up-Cycle
This weeks project is to refinish 2 of these bar stools. The wood is in great condition, they are sturdy, and don't rock. The finish isn't the best though so it's time for a cool new makeover.
I'm considering doing another Flur de lis project. I want to paint a black Flur de lis on the seat, with the rest of the seat being stained, and the legs painted black. Time to get to work :-)

Projects, Projects, Projects!
This is gonna be another busy week here at Wilton Charm and I couldn't be more excited!
This weeks first project is to recreate this sign for a coworker, but with added paws on each side.
Then to make a sign like this but the couple names instead of Mr. & Mrs.
And finally this sign
So far G has cut me a bunch of wood and I have sanded them down into nice paintable boards,
and I have the background painting done.
Next step is getting al of the wording done :-)

New Project & Minor Changes
I have decided to change things up a little bit here at the Wilton Charm Blog. Due to my new work and school schedule I am going to start posting my new projects on Sundays, and my completed projects on Fridays. Works in progress will still be posted on random days during the week if I remember to take picture during the process :-)
This week my projects are to make signs like these. A customer who purchased other items from me sent me these pictures to see if I could do something similar. Well challenge accepted! This week I will be creating signs like these.

The Guitar Upcycle Adventure
I have been a musician most my life, I started plying music when I was 10, one of my most loved instruments is the guitar. I have some really cool guitar upcycles on the internet, but I all my guitars are for playing I could never dismantle them, so when I found this free guitar I jumped on the chance to try a guitar up cycle! It is a pretty cute guitar, even if pink guitars aren't really my cup of tea.
The biggest challenge though? How do you take apart a guitar with destroying it? One project need the body with the top removed, another calls for the top and neck. After doing some research I have found a heat gun is what is used to melt the glue and pull apart the pieces. Well, I have a heat gun so lets give this project a try!

Tile coasters, and I thought why not cut out some of the steps and just upcycle these into a coaster design I would like! I'm off to pick out scrapbook paper!

Sweat Pants or Yoga Bag: New Project Monday!
I got this pair of sweatpants free, I was super excited not only did they have this cute design but they were the capri style with the elastic bottoms, all of which I love, but then I discovered they had a big hole in them (well now I know why they were free) so there went my awesome pair of sweatpants. But since I hate wasting things I though there has to be something I can do with these. After some thinking I thought why not try to make a yoga mat bag. I go to the gym a lot and see a lot of people carrying around their yoga mats. I haven't seen a Pinterest post on this and I don't have a pattern so this should be an interesting project :-)

T-Shirt Upcycle
I have this baggy t-shirt that I want to up cycle, it's in really good condition, not stained or beat up like the ones I've used before. I want to make another tank top, but I'm it 100% happy with the last one I made so this time I'm going to tweak this one a bit! Stay tuned :-)

New Project Monday: I'm the Proud Owner of a Bottle Cutter!
This Christmas I had one thing on my list, a bottle cutter. Well I didn't one but I did get a gift card so I promptly ordered myself one. and this week I am finally going to start my bottle projects!
The first step is to collect bottles
The next is to remove the labels
Then begin the cutting process
I really want to make candles with the bottoms, but that's a whole new project that requires some supply research and shopping so I'm gonna put that project on hold for now. This week my goal is to make a set of candle holders and a set of lanterns, hopefully I don't destroy too many bottles in the precess. Stay tuned for the results!

New Project Monday (On a Tuesday)
Ahhh a whole day late! Our internet is was down yesterday, at some point it was fixed but I ended up working OT at work last night and have no idea what time that was. But on to this weeks post :-)
The great body wash experiment...
Since last weeks laundry soap experiment worked so well I thought I would give body wash a shop. Ideally I would like to use a bar of organic soap but I can't get it in the small town where I live so I giving it a shot with a regular bar of soap. Here is the link to the recipe...
Once again my trusty pot and cheese greater, plus soap and glycerin.
The directions say to let the soap sit for 12 hours so stay tuned for the soapy results on Thursday!Monday, January 7, 2013
New Project Monday! DIY Laundry Soap
I don't have a craft project to work on this week, but I do have a cleaning project!
One of my New Years resolutions was to use products that are natural and better for the environment, this was going to be a gradual transition for a couple of reasons one I didn't want to freak out my husband, and two I didn't want to just toss out the products we already had. This week we ran out of laundry soap so I decided I would give that a try. I found this receipt on Pinterest
and today I am giving it a try.
After the soap is made I will do some wash and see how it turn out!

New Project Monday & A Link Up!
It's New Years Eve!! New Project once again lands on a holiday :-)
This week I am working on 2 clear square vase/jars, my plan is to add a frost finish to them. I will also be refinishing a Christmas cookie tin into a all year around storage tin, I'm thinking teal and black.
Another big project this week is joining the New Year's Organizing Revolution Challenge #1 over on Organizing Made Fun Blog! Here is the link
I'm pretty excited about this, I haven't tried a like up before so I'm hoping I can figure out how to link up correctly. In the mean time I will be cleaning, organizing and writing a post in between my usual crafting.
Happy New Years Eve everyone, Happy Crafting!

New Project Monday: Vases and Jars!
Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
I debated weather or not to post today since this Monday happens to be Christmas Eve, but hey maybe some of you out there need a break from wrapping presents and cooking yummy food. Or maybe there's some of you out there who have finished already and are putting your feet up relaxing. I personally have all the food ready to too cook tomorrow morning, the presents are wrapped and in stockings or hiding from my cat, and G has a 24 hour shift at work, so I decided to pass the time with some blogging and crafting!
I was lucky enough to get some cool vases the other day from a lady that was moving and didn't have room to take them. I also cleaned up my stash of jars I have been saving for a project somewhere down the line. I went to the store and got a nice selection of spring colored paints and I am really excited to see what kind of creations I can come up with!
stay tuned for spring colored vases and jars!Monday, December 17, 2012
New Project Monday: The Coffee Table
My new project this week is refinishing this old coffee table....
I got this table free, but it's ugly, old, and scratched. My challenge for the week is to fix those issues and make it into a treasure someone would love to have in their home :-)
