2x4 Flag

Here is my version of the 2x4 flag :-)
G voted to not distress the edges and add the bow on top.
Now I can't wait for July!
We will be taking a short vacation this weekend so I won't be posting next week, but! I have orders already in and will starting those after vacation.

Happy Easter everyone!

2x4 Fun!

This weeks projects are created from 2x4s!
Both of these ideas I are gonna be for our house, they have been on the back burner for quite a while while I filled orders.  Since my orders are currently caught up I though this week I'd catch up on these!

Quick Craft: Coffee Mugs

I finally gave custom coffee mugs a try!  Deciding what type of font to use was probably the hardest part of this whole project :-)  I practiced a few times on a piece of paper then wrote on the mugs. I then baked them at 400 degrees for 40 minutes as shown in this tutorial.  Even though it takes some time to bake these and let them cool I decided to post as q quick craft because the amount of time I was actively working on them was about 5 minutes.
I love the shape of these mugs, I kinda wish I was keeping them :-)

Happy Friday! FInished Flur de lis Bar Stools

Here is the end result of my bar stool up cycle.  Personally I'm not a huge fan of how the distressing came out on the seats, but I posted these for sale and they sold in 30 minutes so the distressing was deffinately wasn't a bad idea :-)
After sanding down the stools I painted the legs a satin black (I love this paint by the way, it's the same paint I used on my coffee table project).  The Flur de lis was done in black and gold and the wood was stained with a dark wood stain.  The tops were then sealed with a matte finish.

I was a little sad to see these go but also really happy they were so well received

Making Progress :-)

Here are the bar stools with the legs black and the flur de lis solid black, so far I am really pleased with the progress :-)

Bar Stool Up-Cycle

This weeks project is to refinish 2 of these bar stools.  The wood is in great condition, they are sturdy, and don't rock.  The finish isn't the best though so it's time for a cool new makeover.
I'm considering doing another Flur de lis project.  I want to paint a black Flur de lis on the seat, with the rest of the seat being stained, and the legs painted black.  Time to get to work :-)

Saturday!

Today was a great day, the sun was shining, there was a light breeze, and it was 77 degrees outside.  I was a prefect day for tanning and I got some time in today :-)

I started my day off with spin class, always a good way to get moving on a Saturday, getting that heart rate up there.

Once I got home I was able to complete all 3 of my sign orders, they are now wrapped and ready to go to their new homes :-)

I then started up cycling 2 bar stools, the sanding and base coats are done!

It was a busy and productive day, a perfect Saturday :-)

Is It Really Only Wednesday?

Is it really only Wednesday? The time change this week is really kickin' my butt, how about all of you?

Some of my non-crafting goals this week are to go to the gym everyday, and continue with my healthy eating habits.  So far I have failed on both accounts.  I missed the gym yesterday, and ate horrible yesterday and today.  But tomorrow is a new day! I have packed a healthy lunch and planned a cardio and weight work out for tomorrow evening.

Tomorrow is new day, happy crafting everyone!

Progress is Sllllooooowwww

I have several projects to work on this week so I decided to try making stencils.  Unfortunately it did not work out well, the adhesive was too strong and the stencil ended up stuck to the board.  First I attempted to remove the excess with my fingers, then an exacto knife, both were causing a lot of damage.  I ended up resanding the board and starting over :-(

I definitely recommend testing out these things on a practice board before using them on an order :-)

Projects, Projects, Projects!

This is gonna be another busy week here at Wilton Charm and I couldn't be more excited!

This weeks first project is to recreate this sign for a coworker, but with added paws on each side.
Then to make a sign like this but the couple names instead of Mr. & Mrs.
 And finally this sign

So far G has cut me a bunch of wood and I have sanded them down into nice paintable boards,
and I have the background painting done.
Next step is getting al of the wording done :-)

New Project & Minor Changes

I have decided to change things up a little bit here at the Wilton Charm Blog.  Due to my new work and school schedule I am going to start posting my new projects on Sundays, and my completed projects on Fridays.  Works in progress will still be posted on random days during the week if I remember to take picture during the process :-)

This week my projects are to make signs like these.  A customer who purchased other items from me sent me these pictures to see if I could do something similar.  Well challenge accepted! This week I will be creating signs like these.
