Happy Sunday Everyone!

It's Sunday, the day I usually post a new project, but we are only 23 days away from our move back to California and my crafting room has been packed up and turned into a staging area :-(

So for the time being I am going to put my blog on hold.  I will still come and share my thoughts or ideas, but won't be doing any new projects for awhile.  (Unless of course I fins something awesome I can't resist doing!)

Wish me luck with my baking soda no poo project.  I will updating that story on Thursday 3 weeks in!

Blogging

Several months ago I deleted my personal blog.  There were several reasons why.

One I wanted to focus more on this crafting blog.
Two my life really isn't all that interesting.
Three I'm trying to limit the amount of personal information out in Internet land.
Four There's only so many social media sites you can keep up.
Five I don't think I'm that great of a writer

But I digress...
I miss rambling on about the stresses in my life.

Hence the return of the blog!

The next few months is gonna be a little crazy, we are in the process of moving from Louisiana to California.  I have had to really cut back on the number of projects I have going :-( as well as the amount of supplies I have.  I am posting my last new project this week then my posts will shift towards cleaning and packing tips for quite some time.

One of the hard things about this transition is that crafting is my main form of stress relief, so now instead of painting I am job searching and sending out resumes.  Waiting for calls, returning calls, and planning our move.

I miss painting :-(

Dresser Progress

Making progress on the dresser upcycle, it came apart pretty easy and all but one shelf is in good shape

Base coat on the dresser parts
Black color on the dresser parts
I think it's gonna look really nice when it's finished :-)

No Poo Shampoo

Awhile back I posted about making laundry soap and body wash.  I then started using dilute apple cider vinegar as a conditioner, which I absolutely LOVE! Well my next big experiment is baking soda shampoo, or "no poo" in the natural living communities.  After reading about it I decided to give it a try.  I knew it would take awhile for my head to adjust to the lack of chemicals but I was confident I could make it through the transition.  Well I'm a week into it and absolutely hate the way my looks.  Its is so nasty/dirty/caked with goo that I have to keep it up and wear a head band.  I posted about it on the natural living community blog I read and the responses were either "I gave up before I made it though the transition" or "stick with it and you will love it." I also learned the transition can take up to a month :-( I thought it was a week.  Well I am determined to stick with it. I wear my hair up most of the time anyway, and the head band keeps my bangs out of my eyes.  So wish me luck and if you use the "no poo" method I would love to hear how you like it.

The World's MOST Adorable Children's Table

OK I'm sure there are tons and tons of super cute tables out there for children, so is this the world's MOST adorable? Most likely no, BUT it's got to be up there right.  I like the way it turned out so much wish I had a reason to keep it :-( While the list of uses in my last post was pretty good we a moving in a few short weeks so this cute little upcycle needs a new home.

Children's Table Upcycle

I got this little table last week thinking it would be a wonderful upcycle project. It could continue on as a newly refinished children's table, or for those without children it could be a nice little plant stand? End table? Corner table? The ideas are endless! Due to my current color collection I am choosing teal for the top and lime for the legs.  I hope this project turns out well I think it has the potential to be a really nice piece once it's finished.
Stay tuned for the final results Friday :-)

New Sign Challenge!

This is this weeks sign challenge...
(This is not my photo, please don't sew me!)
The goal is to make something similar to this, it's gonna be a challenge but I think I can do it.
The templates are made and the boards are cut.  Once coat of stain has been applied. Due to 2 days of furloughs this week, I should be able to get it done and ready for it's new home by Saturday :-0
